2014 was the year of 100+ books. That’s no exaggeration. In 2014 I read (or listened to) over 100 books and listened to literally thousands of podcast episodes.
In 2015 I’m going in the opposite direction. I’m going to do a deep dive into 5 books and limit myself to no more than 10 podcasts subscriptions at a time (and only 2 that update daily!), 4 books on leadership and personal development, and “1” rotating book that will be primarily for entertainment (fiction or an entertaining bio).
Current nominees for 2015 development books are Start with Why?, The Miracle Morning, War of Art, Platform, Die Empty, Smart Talk, How to Win Friends and Influence People, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Getting Things Done, Multipliers, Failing Forward, What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast, Lincoln on Leadership, Steve Jobs, 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, 5 Levels of Leadership, and Rich Dad Poor Dad.
Those look to me like they fall into ~3 categories: contemporary/practical, classic self-help, and leadership - I'll do 2 on leadership and 1 of each of the others.
